You have probably already spent hundreds of dollars on a builder's pack for a new network marketing company with the dream to finally make that BIG money. Yep, you followed your sponsor's lead by making your list, and then calling the names on it that included mostly family and friends. You faithfully got on the company calls for at least the first month and endlessly posted on social media with little to no results. So, you're probably asking yourself, does network marketing really work?
We'll the answer is yes, yes and yes! The Direct Sales Industry is a legitimate and extremely robust industry with many professionals that continues to grow in the US and globally every year. Global sales recached $183 Billion in 2015. Network Marketing has helped more women in the US make more than $100,000 than any other industry!
After working in the direct sales industry as a global leader for more than ten years with some of the top earners, I believe there are a few key things that you need to keep in mind if you want to succeed in this industry. First, you need to keep your expectations in line. So many people get in and give up way too soon. In the traditional business world, it takes the average business owner after investing tens of thousands of dollars in a start-up between two to three years to be profitable. Yet with network marketing, you can start a new business with the potential for unlimited income with only several hundreds dollars and recoup that amount and then some in the first month. Moreover, if you want to build a six figure income--you need to commit to a three to five year plan. Remember, unlike the traditional business world--you are also building a monthly residual income. Huge difference!
Lets get things in perspective even more about the power of network marketing. Did you know studies show that just an extra $300 to $500 a month would help most families avoid bankruptcy? I strongly believe that network marketing is the perfect avenue for that extra stream of income. Forbes is among the reputable sources that touts network marketing as a viable way for baby boomers to generate more retirement. Making an extra $500 to $1,000 a month can help banish your debt and start building your assets with traditional investments. No matter what your age and background, I believe you can be well on your way to making this amount of money and more by following these simple steps.
First, you have to be consistent and commit between 10 to 15 hours to your network marketing business every week. There are no excuses here because even if you work a full-time job and are busy with family duties--you can work these hours into your weekly schedule by sharing throughout your day and carving out a couple really productive hours every day to build your future. If you are driving your kids to the game, then put on your headset and call some prospects. Successful entrepreneurs are always connecting with people throughout their day, multi-tasking and helping others succeed. They know how to manage time very well! With 168 hours in a week, you have more time than you think.
You also have to expose at least 15 to 20 people every month to your business. You can do this by doing three-way calls with your upline, home meetings, Zoom or Skype meetings, one-on-ones at your local coffee shop etc. Yep, there are four simple money making steps in this industry: contact, invite, share (expose) and follow-up. You need to spend time every week doing these activities if you want to generate income. Just sitting back and staring at your back office won't make you money. Success always requires intentional action!
You also need to make a commitment to invest in yourself every day by reading and listening to self-development books, training and other solid mentorship. Of course, it's important that you pick the right company and have a supportive sponsor and upline. That's why I encourage my team members to read for at least 15 minutes a day, and provide them with weekly training calls, emails and other ongoing support to help them grow and reach their goals. I let them know that we are in this to win it together! You have to cultivate the mindset of a millionaire--dare to dream again! Know why you want to succeed in this business, and use that reason to create a vision so powerful that it keeps you going even when you feel like giving up. Trust me, we all have those days. But winners don't give up!
The bottom line, network marketing is a relationship business. You can utilize technology to broaden your outreach and influence, but you always need to take the time to build relationships. Find out what people need, and help them achieve their dreams. When you really care, people know it. So, always speak from the heart, and take the time to invest in people. And always treat your mlm biz like a business and you'll be blessed.
